YummY Real in Niagara Falls has burger right in the name, so I stopped in for my first visit on the quest to find the best Gold Medal Burger. The video got cut short, and there's no official score for this one.
My order
I ordered my usual Gold Medal Burger: a hamburger with lettuce, onion and pickle only. When I paid, the chef asked if I wanted cheese on it. No cheese, of course. The burger came in a paper bag.
A look inside
When I opened it up, I found one piece of lettuce, a slice of onion and pickle. The patty looked all right, but they went a little light on the trio of toppings that make a Gold Medal Burger. On the plus side, they toasted the bun.
- Bun: Toasted.
- Patty: Looked all right.
- Toppings: Lettuce, onion and pickle, but a little light.
- Packaging: Paper bag.
First bite and a guest
One bite, everybody knows the rules. A woman named Carol happened to be nearby and became my guest of the day, and I handed her a card so she could catch the video online. Things got a little crazy at that point, so I decided to cut the review short.
My verdict
This one doesn't have an official score on my Gold Medal Burger rankings. The order came out right, the bun was toasted, and I would have liked a bit more on the lettuce, onion and pickle front. YummY Real may be worth a proper revisit someday.
