Trailside Bar and Grill Burger Review – Ridgeway, ON
The quest headed back to Ridgeway, one of my favorite spots that I hardly ever get out to, for a first-ever visit to Trailside Bar and Grill on Ridge Road, right outside Ridgeway Village Square. The result was another DQ. 'Tis the season for them.
The spot
I don't know how long Trailside has been around, but I liked what I saw. It's a big place with a sports bar feel, the game was on, and there was a healthy crowd inside. Trailside picked up points right out of the gate for the atmosphere, and I was hoping the burger would make happenings.
The order and the price
Robyn ordered as always: a hamburger with lettuce, onion and pickle only. I heard her say it, and she repeated it when they asked. The burger came to $14.68, which I'd peg as right about average for the quest. It came in a styrofoam container.
The reveal
I opened the container, and Robyn knew what was coming. The burger had cheese and tomato on it. That's not a Gold Medal Burger.
- Price: $14.68, about average.
- Packaging: Styrofoam container.
- Order: Lettuce, onion and pickle only.
- What came out: Cheese and tomato. A straight DQ.
- Atmosphere: Big sports bar, game on, decent crowd.
My verdict
Ridgeway is a quaint town with an amazing main street, and I was happy to be back out there. But cheese can't come off a burger, and the tomato made it worse. Trailside Bar and Grill in Ridgeway goes down as a DQ on my Gold Medal Burger quest. No bite, no score.
